Any way for those without scripting skills to access premade iTunes playlists without having to export them and use custom scripts?
Also, for those who use folder structures such as iTunes default, would be great to have one list of songs, or ability to sort by artist and have all songs available, rather than having to navigate album/artist folders individually.
Last, for those using multiple locations in sync, it would be good to have "Home media player" show up in the dashboard while at work under the different media players for one user account rather than having to navigate to the URL as if you were a guest user. I could be wrong on this, but that is the only way I can see right now.
1. Volume control 2. Possibility to hide the media player tab or closing it with having the media player still running and playing music in the background 3. Adding more than one folder to the music library
The double-bytes character probolem is maybe caused by ID3 tag written by ansi, and opera think it is written by utf-8 or unicode. I can play all the mp3 files with CJK characters name with 3.7(1833 include) and 3.8 , but some(most in fact) files without utf-8 ID3 tag display incorrect. Double-bytes characters being divided into twos is an annoying problem.
on my awesomeness scale of short mustering all the apps this one ranks first! Although I could only try it with other browsers on the same machine, have to run full trials of them this weekend! What I'd love to see is a drag and drop playlist ;D But still: Great Work!
Edit: just noticed, in IE8 the progress bar remains on 0:00 throughout the whole song and does not change if clicked randomly to go forward or backward in a song.
eliotcougar : Hi .The problem with the application slowing down /freezing on folders is being worked on.The other issue with random Japanese characters should not be present with build 1833 and version 3.8 .If you delete the older version and reinstall , it should not occur.
xarisfil Same here, it reads whole folder 7 times in v.3.6, but every time this happens, Media Player adds two (Random?) Japanese characters to the end of every "tag" - e.g. Title, Album, Artist... It can play those tracks, though... -- "...we have Core fixes for application discovery and encoding issues. So the applications should now work with files that have Russian or Chinese characters" (C) Desktop Team -- No, it doesn't work... I do not see any difference...
I have been having the same problem as Netwolf since snapshot 1810. Problem persists in 1830. Choosing a folder to view its content (3 songs, only latin characters) freezes Opera for 3-4 minutes. Content then appears and unite application becomes fully functional. On Win XP SP3.
I've just updated from 1810 build to 1830 and Media Player works great for me. No issues have been detected, even with non standard characters songs name (e.g. à, ó or é). I'm using Media Player UA pre-installed version from 1830 build.
Upgraded to b1830 and player v3.6, but it still doesn't work here (XP SP3).
Even if I add only one music folder containing only 7 songs with non but latin characters, CPU goes to 100% as soon as I want to access my player app (http://admin...).
For getting experience with Unite Media Player Application, I've shared my music and would like to listen it on my own PC via Opera Unite Media Player Application v.3.6, but it doesn't work! No sound and playback happened. Instead of timer I see «0:00 / NaN:NaN».
Opera 10.10.1810 Windows XP Pro SP3 x32 + All Updates Adobe Flash Player 10.0.32.18 No firewall or proxy used.
great job, player works fine now in every browser. I am hoping to see a volume panel soon, maybe eq and stereo pan. There are still some issues with the timer, sometimes the song plays but the clock says "0:00/0:00". also thing that I would like to see improved is to be able to play the song from the middle without having it fully loaded, in other words to force it to load from desired position (like on youtube). cover art still does not load.
big thanks for this release, i am now finally able to launch http://vrazjeuriceonline.tk/ (it is a 10 years old slovenian metal radio broadcast I've had recorded on cassettes and decided to share with the world
previous versions worked fine with IE, since this issue was detected in 3.2 (or before maybe) I hoped it will be fixed with 3.4 but it is still present :/
