File Sharing

Share files directly from your computer easily and safely.

The Opera Unite File Sharing service is simply the easiest way to share files from your computer. There is no need to worry about attaching loads of files to e-mails, or about single files being too large to send by e-mail. You don't have to sign up for third-party file sending applications, or set up an FTP service. All you need to do is send your friends the unique URL and they can instantly see your files. As we said. Simple.

Note: Please respect artists. Only share content if you have the right to do so.

I have a 700mb file and when my friend who's 700miles away from me tried to download it with opera unite, all that he could get is 18.5kbps of speed. Normally it would be 256kbps download speed. Any reason for the dead slow dwld speed?

as with File Sharing by OperaUnite change the drive where the files are located?? Well toist I ща is робочий table and how to change the disk d ????... can??

I read in the FAQ & Support section that it is possible to install multiple instances of the same application. e.g. install a second instance of File Sharing so that different password protected folders/files can be shared with different visitors. Ignoring the "upgrade" offer and choosing to install a "new" second application appears to simply overwrite the existing first instance with all Properties being retained.

Any ideas please?

cant share multiple folders.. there should be some way of putting more than one folders online.. useful if you want to share files with a friend or something.. but cannot be used as an ftp server.. t

Once you have chosen a folder to share and later decide to not share ie leave content shared folder blank, it will not allow it.

It would be a very nice feature to have a possibility to create more visitor's account with separate passwords and also with separate folders.

Great application!

A feature request: add an option to select multiple files for download; for instance if I have a couple of photos and want to copy them from one computer to another I would have to click on each photo to save them, instead of selecting them all and giving only one click.

Tested with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and works fine (~100kb/s with DSL upload) :smile:

Optional https for unite-2-client-encryrption would be a neat feature

I tried file sharing on local LAN (Wifi 55 Mbs) and average speed was 45 KBs (ten time slower than sharing via samba), very disappointing :-( It was almost impossible to open any web page in Opera during file transfer.

Why I cannot see that it works? I sharing files. I come on my page Unite and I see 404 Not found
Resource not found!

This problem is possible because of Agnitum Outpost Firewall?

Couple of issues with this app.
1. Once you have chosen a folder to share and later decide to not share ie leave content shared folder blank, it will not allow it.
2. Please allow for the entry of E-mail other than what is listed. ie link to users E-mail. (It took me years to get rid of the dozens of E-mail accounts and settle for the one I currently use).
