My Webcam (Fixed)

Broadcast your own webcam using Opera Unite.

A working version of the My Webcam application originally by mozlima.

New In version 1.1:

  • Russian and Ukrainian translations for HTML, Javascript and Flash content courtesy of Maxim Nosovets.
  • Faster "asynchronous" JPEG encoding should not interrupt visual play back as much.
  • Web-cam access dialog now displays on load instead of first "Start" click.
  • Alert message when unite application has stopped but flash capture/upload is still running.

Translations are displayed according to your browser language settings.

This will not work on a Mac due to this bug:
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1051712

Until fixed you are not able to enable Flash access to camera in Opera and only Opera can be used to set up Opera Unite...

I love opera but having probs trying 2 work out the web-cam, lack of instructions. all i see is myself when i turn it on. Is this right? Need instructions on how 2 work it. Appreciate any help..

Hi donavanhlock,

Unfortunately I think unite applications are limited to opera desktop (someone please correct me if I am wrong), this one in particular also relies on flash which I believe has very limited mobile phone support.

I'Ve have opera 4.3 and 6 on my samsung Sgh-j706 and i'Ve come so close to getting it to stream video.Saw your app and can'T download to phone.Save or open oppsions,my phone will only use java apps,or i'M not setting up the folder name right.Need a little help, please
