This is a multiuser spreadsheet application. All changes made update in real time across all users connected to the application.
Gridnite is a multiuser spreadsheet application. All changes made update in real time across all users connected to the application. This is the third version of the application, and it features a simple formula engine and the ability to create, save and restore multiple spreadsheets.
Please note: This is NOT a finished application - it is at an experimental stage, and the current release version is intended for educational purposes. We wouldn't recommend that you store any sensitive data in Gridnite just yet!
The spreadsheets are currently stored in JSON format. Future enhancements to the application will add further features such as:
Styling and resizing cells
Exporting/importing from common data formats
Better UI design
Please let us know your suggestions - we'd love to know what you think.
This application is the subject of a dev.opera.com article series. Go there to find more out about the formula engine and the basic functionality. Another article covering the multiple spreadsheets functionality will be available soon.

Awsome .. but guess what I want? A Windows OS installer to use at home to share with wife the shopping lists and finance accounts across two laptops and an iPad .. but installed on Windows 7 or a server code .. with Excel or .csv support. Any chance? I'll take a LAMP install as well !! thanks for the great work tho, good stuff. Thx
First: please remove unaccassary wasted space on the top When being inside of the editing mode in cell it would be usefull to do something like: press =, click in some other cell (or select range of cells), and press enter. You could also provide more convinient way of editing cells by having input form above the spreadsheat.
Also functions like SUM, AVG are must have.
Also easier copying of cell content, with relative and absolute addressing is must have.
this is awesome, but i need a near-form of this, focused to a month calendar where groups of work can see about what need to do that day. i dont know if we can change any file in our computers manually to make presets of each month or whatever each people need. i can help with that if you need () because this will be really comfortable for my team. contact me with my opera user or n3cL_L (A<>O) hotmail.com
Im looking forward to a simillar aplication to this, or a point this (wich I haven't tried yet) may not have.
i.e. I want to make a document, and make certain cells be able for edition, others not; and when someone enters and edits the editable ones, let them choose to make that cell final and not able for edition to others.
Is this possible, can you add this funcionality to it?
One question though: every time I input an equation (exp. "=23+13*9") it returns the right answer. But after about 2-3 seconds, it turns back to equation with "=", "+" and so on replaced by code. That's true in non-debug mode also. Is it deliberate?
update: I guess I have the same problam as bug #961 (https://unite.opera.com/applications/bug/961/)

I'm wondering whether you'll add support for excel sheets? I'd hate to have to re-do all my sheets.
Rating this a plus for sure.
