A simple way to upload files to your machine from anywhere.
The Document Courier service is a simple way to upload files to your computer from anywhere. Allow your friends to send files directly to your computer with the click of a button. Just send them the unique service URL and your editable upload password.
The Document Courier maximum directory size has a default size of 350 MB, but is now customizable.
NOTE: The new Document Sync service allows you to automatically back up the contents of a specified directory to a remote computer running Document Courier.
Very nice job, Frogstomp ! I don't like metal music but that's a very cool Unite, you've got there. And the picture whiteboard2.png, it was really drawn on the whiteboard ? Kudos !
great, +1 for progress bar. is it possible for unite applications to use external css?
anyways i threw in a couple of divs, embedded unite applications via iframe.. and there we have.. a hosting service... don't forget to reload, i am a beginner so i don't know how it's done.. something like that should bi shipped as all in one service:
Now this really makes sense! Finally I started to consider Opera Unite as a useful idea. I just need to buy a home server and install Opera 10.10 on it.
All by itself document courier is the same as file inbox. Here's why I believe Document Courier is better - it works. File uploader has been notoriously buggy and does not work on Macs. - it allows you to upload full folders to it if you use document sync (which is by no means trivial with web technology) - it was released months before opera released theirs. - now with document sync in place it allows this app to become even more powerful and for features that weren't even possible before.
if you had to choose between the two and they almost do the same thing but only one works with document sync then which would you choose?
¿ Seria posible que notifique (al igual que fridge) cuando un nuevo archivo a llegado? . creo que no estaría demás una notificación para saber que el archivo llego satisfactoriamente.
******* Would it be possible to notify (as fridge) when a new file to come? . I think it can not hurt to know that a notification to get the file successfully.
pg 2 lol, The thing that I really liked about dropbox is that I can share one folder with a certain person or group and make another for another person or group, it's worth checking into. Cher
I have been using the dropbox.com file sharing service. You can make a public folder. Specifically for my family pics and backups. They give you free storage up to a point. So then I just directed my url's to it on my harddrive.
It's possible in a future release to limit the type of documents to upload? *. pdf, *, jpg, *. cdr .
*** Seria posible en una futura versión limitar el tipo de documentos a subir, es decir solo documentes de cierto formato ,ejemplo *.pdf ,*,jpg ,*.cdr .
arnoAS - Document Courier is a service that's run locally on your computer. If your computer is powered down, Document Courier is not running and so it would be inaccessible.
CDostal - For clarification, are you asking if there are plans to include functionality that will allow a user to specify/create a specific file for upload? Or if functionality will be included to allow for uploads from specific users to be routed to assigned folders?
AndrewTPeters/americanvirus - Currently there is no such functionality in place within Document Courier. However, we are currently in the process of developing an app with functionality similar to what you're requesting. We'll be sure to keep you posted.
Thanks for all the feedback!! Keep your comments coming and we'll see what we can include in coming releases.
What happens when a friend uploads (wants to upload?) to my computer (with the correct upload passport, of course), but my computer is offline -- let's say -- for a whole week?
I was wondering if you perhaps are going to provide, maybe in a future version, the ability for the uploader to create a folder while uploading, or choose a pre-made folder to upload to?
Is there a way to upload multiple files at the same time? In the File Inbox forum someone said DocCourier allowed upload of multiple files....but I can't seem to get that going using both chrome and IE8 on vista. Is this an OS/browser issue? Can ANYONE upload multiple files from one batch using any unite apps (how)? Any recommendations for a user friendly app that WILL do this.
Unfortunately the officiale widget "File Imbox" in Opera Unite 10.10 Beta doesn't work with Leopard (Apple OS), but your Application is perferct and works great!
