is there any way to force jwplayer for all formats and not use windows media player? or does this have to do with the actual video file trying to be played?

By kdoh, # Feb 16, 2010 2:02:23 PM

Needs FLAC and OGG codecs. Don't see what the big implementation problem is, they are open source so it's not like there are any royalty fees.

People that complain about non working avi's.1. Read the authors comments above about avi's having to fully download before playing with some players.2. Also here is something I found, don't click the play button to the left of the title, instead right click and then click 'open' this then gives you a choice of how to handle the file, use the drop down menu. I find any movie is up and running within 30 seconds if choose WMP or VLC (NOT THE PLUG IN BUT THE FULL VERSION) down load it if you don't have it, its free!! Also streaming works fine if I choose Nero Vision. Get these programmes and they will appear in the drop down menu if you right click the title then click 'open' By the way I have over 200 films on my opera stream (all the latest and greatest) Help yourselves guys!! Always remember, try to figure things out, don't just cry and scream for help, I aint no clever bloke but I fiddle about, that's how I learn. Big up for the App author! Take care folks!

Hi!

Thanks for a nice app! But is it possible to get the streams open in VLC or another program than WMP?

By klikkamongo, # Feb 2, 2010 11:05:48 PM

If ya'll want a good streaming application, download winamp and install the winamp remote add on. Supports direct streaming and uses ffdshow for encoding so it supports any file winamp can play...which is everything (with ffdshow and a mkv splitter).

Opera Unite seems to be better for full files and site hosting.

Wake on lan works with winamp remote as well if you set up some port forwarding.

Is there a chance that this plugin will support MKV in the near future? MKV allows for nice streaming, in contrast to AVI.

It would be convenient to be able to add multiple parent folders, because my music, and video files are in two different folders in My Music, and My Videos.

Dear avenu,
I think as well, FLAC is a preferred standard. But by biggest wish is:
Unattended Web Radio mode!
======================
What's this?
On the server side I assign a playlist or set a folder focus for shuffle mode.
The client does not need to actively select songs. He just clicks the URL once and then listens to the Web Radio.
Advanced mode: Remote Control!
=========================
What's this?
In a WLAN scenario it would be advantageous to have the server wired to the network hub and control the Web Radio remotely via WLAN from a second browser client.
Ultimate mode: Jukebox!
==================
What's this?
Instead of working with static predefined playlists, it should be possible to assign from the remote control permanently new songs to a dynamical playlist-queue. Just a real jukebox!
Result:
I could use all my old stereo systems with cheap WLAN Web Radio receivers and could control them from a netbook all over my house!

I like this app a lot aswell :smile:. Just one tiny little detail: make the password field for the user as a password field.The user's are typing passwords and are "showing" it to everyone around...

just thought u might wanna know since things like this slip by :wink:

By SowingSadness, # Jan 15, 2010 11:40:52 PM
