Hi. Thanks for this app, very useful for watching videos on one laptop that are stored on another. But would like to echo the request for password protection... I'm concerned about copyright ;-)

By desic, # Nov 23, 2009 7:31:21 PM

Please add password protection option.

By techwg, # Nov 23, 2009 10:02:27 AM

any chance of password protection once unite becomes Official?

By samMD, # Nov 22, 2009 10:48:36 PM

is there anywhere that says how to work this thing for total idiots like me?

By lizellis, # Nov 21, 2009 3:45:04 PM

i know why it did't work.
a flv file with a chinese character name just won't work, rename it to english will solve it.

By marcusology, # Nov 19, 2009 2:30:51 PM

works ok with download. Could use some work and a password would not hurt like the music has.

Windows 98SE stream media, photo sharing, and media player all performing - some adjustments required for preference as yet. Vista 64 machine working well with all Unite functions I have tried.

By TeeJayH, # Nov 7, 2009 3:39:24 AM

Working good now! for some reason, the version 1.6 file to download was not the same size as the one saved to my folder. Re-downloaded and re-tried - works. Some adjusting yet to do with plug ins for preference, but nothing unusual as yet.

hi my friends, OK I set up the player to run videos... fantastic but what can I do to generate a embed code if this is possible. Otherwise this is not going to be useful for me. Example. I got a personal video. I don't feel like uploading to you tube or similar. I want to host it here at Opera web server. But I want/need to generate a code to embed it in my personal blog.... understood ? I know threre's a plugin at Longtail video called Viral but just don't know how to make it work here in my webserver Opera Unite browser. Appreciate your reply.

By hakkukakt, # Nov 5, 2009 4:55:42 PM

OMG!! the "fixed version" you posted works! I can view videos now! This is awesome but still waiting for improved version !

By samMD, # Nov 5, 2009 2:10:23 AM

Could you please improve the look of this application?

How about FLAC/Ogg?

The stream media app supports a large number of audio formats (much better than the Media player app, which only supports mp3!). But, with Opera's policy on supporting open standards in mind, why is not open formats as FLAC and Ogg included?

It doesn't make sense... At least here in Norway, FLAC and Ogg are now formats used by government websites to publish audio files. And Opera Unite apps should support it to!

By StigJ72, # Nov 2, 2009 8:23:27 AM

Guyz, I don't see ways to understand if browser has extension to play OGG file or not. I think we should wait for any normal specification and support of it in browsers.

f22luke, what is the name of directory, that show 404 error? And what is the url of link?

By avenu, # Oct 31, 2009 10:40:32 AM

I pointed it to a folder in my music. It shows a link for the folder but when I click on the link i get 404 error.

By f22luke, # Oct 30, 2009 5:01:30 AM

Nice job on the app! v1.6 works for me.

It would be nice if it were a bit more in line designwise with the other apps...

As for ogg vorbis support, i think that has more to do with the plugin used to show the files than anything opera has to do with.

Looking forward to the development of this app!

By madxm, # Oct 25, 2009 7:07:30 AM

OK, this is pretty damn cool. I do have to say that I am disappointed that Opera didn't include Ogg Vorbis support.

By Kingsmob77, # Oct 25, 2009 4:48:32 AM

it does't work .

By jieqinmei , # Oct 23, 2009 10:48:35 AM

opal23, plz tell more about your idea.

By avenu, # Oct 17, 2009 11:02:42 AM

I experienced that "Stream media" is close to "Media Player":
In both applications the client selects a file and pulls it.
I rather expected "Stream media" to push files from the server, which would be a simple way to build my own web radio station.
