By cronosnull, # Jun 16, 2009 6:42:06 PM

Use the webby gem to dynamically generate your static site. http://webby.rubyforge.org/

How about supporting TLS-SRP protocol. It is safe, and don't needs certificates.

> does it support php?

People! Don't you see its only 192KB?
And read comments above first, instead of spamming all around.

My vote goes for HTTPS

By gdr, # Jun 16, 2009 3:09:20 PM

Hope to god it does not. PHP is such a kludge and there can be serious security issues. Shoving in php could open up too many holes for exploits.

They will probably make it so you can link in your chat/fridge/music/files etc into one page though for a facebook style experience

Want Unite Web Server to support pointing to
http://localhost/somedir

and that the pages served are served through my Apache web server.
Then you would have support for static pages, and all scripting languages out there as well.

Is that not possible to implement?

By bongobongo, # Jun 16, 2009 1:25:56 PM

could it support secure content?
it's the most importent feature to the people lived in China.

Anyone who understood what's behind the services would not ask for php -.-

By BrokenSword666, # Jun 16, 2009 12:46:50 PM

I was pretty excited untill I found out php isn't supported, this is pretty much the same as file sharing without support for php.

Php Mysql Support needed

Who want's to bet that the next release of Opera Unite will include php support..
Based on the apparent demand for php support, I'd say it's pretty damned likely. p:.
And it would be a good thing too. The only immediate problem for me is that I don't have a pc. I want this to be natively supported on my mobile..
Of course, there is the data usage snag with that approach. awww.

Opera should be able act as web-proxy

By xquery, # Jun 16, 2009 9:17:38 AM

When using Opera as a web server (or for sharing files), won't visitors connecting to my web site be limited by my upload bandwidth? Isn't there going to be a capacity issue here?

By twilighthouse, # Jun 16, 2009 9:08:08 AM

wow I really want PHP right now

By danielsw, # Jun 16, 2009 8:45:21 AM

Keep in mind that this is an Alpha build folks. Don't expect it to do everything just yet.

By Tallefred, # Jun 16, 2009 8:24:06 AM

If you want dynamic pages or content, I think you should create your own unite services. Read more on http://dev.opera.com/articles/view/opera-unite-developer-primer/#service
