Share your personal photos with friends around the world without the need to upload them.
Simply the easiest way to share photos from your computer, this service turns a folder full of photos on your computer into a fully-functional photo gallery in an instant.
Note: Please respect artists. Only share content if you have the right to do so.
Works on one of my comps perfectly and the other is getting the same 404 error as others are getting. Computers are very similar in configuration and OS - Vista 64.
Same here: Photo Sharing : I still get "404 Not found, Resources not found". Tried to delete "photo sharing" application and tried to make a reinstallation. but no luck
After repeated uninstalls (and deleting the related folders), Photo Sharing still gets "404 Not found, Resources not found". This is becoming more trouble than it's worth.
The photo sharing service should also have the possibility to show copyright notices, let me specify a creative commons licence for the photo or photos and so on. Other web photo services usually have this option.
to> creegah and overs having issues with thumbnails not showing up/links not working.
My guess is you did not fully uninstall Opera 10 std release and overinstalled Opera 10 Unite over. This causes Unite default services to not show up/not work properly.
I fixed it by Uninstalling Opera, Deleting 'Opera 10' and 'Opera 10 beta' folders. Then Deleting App Data Roaming Opera folder. And reinstalling the Beta version again. This works nice now.
A second installation of Photo Sharing just shows blank thumbnails and if blank thumbnails are clicked on, you go to a 404 page. So you cannot have 2 separate installations of Photo Sharing?
I agree with chvg, the "precompile" button would be very useful. I also would appreciate some kind of social elements, I don't want to upload my photos to facebook, I want to use OperaUnite and give people on facebook link to those albums. sorted by priority: - global comment for each album (edited in a way the global message at Unite Home Page is edited - comments to the photos/albums) - ratings of the photos/albums
I have several suggestion to improve the photo_sharing service. You should be able to configure both the size of the gallery photos and the thumbnails and quality level of them. Right now the photos in the gallery are a bit small, and the quality is poor with many jpg artifacts. If you open a photo gallery for the first time, performance is very very poor, because all photos and pages have to be rendered first. There should be a "precompile"-button to be able to render a gallery and/or place it in the server cache, before the first visitor has to wait.
When checking the next and previous pic. , the whole page is reloading each time and that's not good because it slow down this service. It is better to use AJAX.
Seconding one-off thumbnail generation. Use a hidden folder, containing small database files (one per page or album). It won't need to be complicated, and it should save a lot of CPU cycles.

creegah : Two installations should work independently from each other.
plus-wito : The latest version , 3.8 , does not have this problem with Cyrillic characters in folder names.
