I'll say 1 more time:
no playlist support
no volume control
player is not integrated to browser. If I want to choose another app - music is gone. It doesn't work as separate app.

I wanted an integrated media player and now I have it. It's too cool. For me the next improvement would be the option for playing "genres" or "authors" of the music library

Okay, the last version of Opera and Media Player applications seems to work much better (But I had to delete Media Player and install it again. Did this to all applications just for sure)
The most annoying (hanging) bug has gone... Now I can keep Media Player running without a fear my PC will suddenly hang for a minute when someone opens a folder in Media Player...
Files with cyrillic names play now, but japanese ones still don't...

Want to see volume control and different sorting orders in the future...

目前无法连接到 Opera Unite 代理服务器,代理服务器也许不在运行中。
不太会用。

It does not play WAV. What's up with that? It plays MP3s very well though. I don't really want to have convert a lot of music to MP3.

Is it just me, or does this application lag a bit sometimes? Would be nice with a volume control. I like it!

By Eplemosen, # Oct 29, 2009 5:31:32 PM

I was wondering, could it be possible to link to a certain music file? Like put up a link to a specific file in the shared folder in the 'home' page if i want to refer someone to it?

By madxm, # Oct 26, 2009 8:46:30 AM

the Opera Unite Media Player doesn`t support WMA file format. Such a shame :frown:

Could it be possible to have a "Loading Status" label to indicate that a folder is in the process of loading the media files. I have a lot folders that contain between 250 to 700 audio files. If some one who does not know this will think there is something wrong if the media files are not displayed with in 10 sec or so.

I have opera up and running on my mine. I start unite media player, am listening to some tunes all works, but...

I try to connect with the URL and Password on another computer, mac or pc and get an error screen that says that this user is not running any applications, please make sure the url is correct, or go to his page to see if he is running an app. I go there, it says I am not, meanwhile the music is playing on my mini the whole time!

Any work around here or is this just life in beta?

Please, the songs of an album have to be ordered by track number, otherwise the player is almost useless.

In the previous versions it was fine.

I LOVE this app!

...but I'm with everyone else in requesting availability for playlist.

Thanks for a great app and thanks in advance for future tweaks.

I agree on the points of
- playlists, embeddable perhaps?
- volume control
- improved navigation, like ordering by Tags, imo a search function would also be great

additionally, i think a list just like the "Recent Activity" list in one's Opera Unite Home specifically for the Media Player, directly on its page, would be interesting, since that current list is pretty short and mixes up with non-relevant other apps if you just want to check what songs of yours people actually like and hear. A more sophisticated and detailed view would be interesting, in how often people actually listened to them perhaps.

Just my few cents, what do you people think?
Already great app though!

If FLAC support isn't going to happen then how about at least add the ability to generate an M3U playlist with absolute webpaths to the FLAC files (and along with them other filetypes like TAK or WV) which can be played in an external player like foobar2000 instead of not displaying them at all. Since sessions / cookies wont work the password has to be included in the urls as well.

+1 to support folder.jpg when available and if album art isn't embedded in the files

By Devocalypse, # Oct 18, 2009 12:12:25 AM

+1 for volume control button

By bachhoakhai, # Oct 17, 2009 11:09:05 PM

Great work, thank you ^^

I think that you can also add a direct link to a song, to let friends hear it.

EMBEDDABLE PLAYLIST PLS :D:D:D

By magicalcritical, # Oct 17, 2009 3:03:22 PM

Grinsekatze, It would not be nice, it SHOULD be the way you said it.

+ 1 for playlist feature.

Any way for those without scripting skills to access premade iTunes playlists without having to export them and use custom scripts?

Also, for those who use folder structures such as iTunes default, would be great to have one list of songs, or ability to sort by artist and have all songs available, rather than having to navigate album/artist folders individually.

Last, for those using multiple locations in sync, it would be good to have "Home media player" show up in the dashboard while at work under the different media players for one user account rather than having to navigate to the URL as if you were a guest user. I could be wrong on this, but that is the only way I can see right now.

Really cool features though! Thanks!
