Share files directly from your computer easily and safely.
The Opera Unite File Sharing service is simply the easiest way to share files from your computer. There is no need to worry about attaching loads of files to e-mails, or about single files being too large to send by e-mail. You don't have to sign up for third-party file sending applications, or set up an FTP service. All you need to do is send your friends the unique URL and they can instantly see your files. As we said. Simple.
Note: Please respect artists. Only share content if you have the right to do so.
I set up file sharing and tested it and it worked fine,
I added a web page and that worked fine too.
Next day when i try to access the file in file sharing i get the message "you tried to access an Opera Unite application that is currently unavailable.
The file sharing app is a great idea. The most annoying problem I have with it right now, is the lack of a feature to control my bandwidth. I just sucks the maximum upload bandwidth and gives me no room to do something else.
The file sharing service is basically useless, because crucial things are missing:
1. Possibility to share more than one folder 2. Possibility to selectively share or not share subfolders 3. Detailed status display of current up- and download activity 4. Having file sharing groups and the possibility to download from more than one source in the group 5. Different access access rights for shared folders, based on groups
And for some reason, the download speed is horrible (< 10 kb/s). Don't know however, if other people have the same problem too. Anyway, if file sharing with Opera would be easy and comfortable, I'd switch from Firefox to Opera. But as long as this ain't working, Opera is a waste of time. Oh, and by the way - smooth scrolling isn't working either with version 10..
Basically, I'd like Opera's file sharing work like Alliance P2P and then it would be really interesting.
I'm having what I suspect is the same problem as AdilsonGuilhem. I set File Sharing to share my My Documents folder, the idea being that I could access it away from my computer. It's 8.7 GB and 10,250 files. I tried it on a remote computer, and while the main My Documents folder appeared without problem, none of the subfolders would open. I tried opening them with both Opera 10 and Firefox 3.0, giving both several minutes, to no avail. IE8 seems to crash when connecting to Opera Unite, so I didn't try it.
I have Opera 10.10 alpha running the Unite service. According to a friend a thousand miles away, my Music Player service is working fine.
Version 3.1: No public access with the current OperaUnite! - I renamed the service for visitors and put a password in the title of the service. - Works with password!!
sorry hat sich erübrigt. ich wusste nicht das es bei filesharing immer einzelne files und keine ganze partition sein darf (irgendwie schon klar : FILE sharing) wie auch immer: opera unite finden wir richtig prima !!

You can limit the upload rate here (put it in the Opera Web address bar):
opera:config#WebServer|MaxUploadRate(kBps)

Такой вопрос можно ли как-то закрыть доступ к определенным подкаталогам?
Good time.
This question is it possible to somehow block access to certain subdirectories?

* Sort by name, size, date
Quite a must have feature for any file browsing application
* Merge this with File Inbox application
Just make uploading a feature that can be turned on when wanted, no need for a separate application.
* Feature to download full folders at once:
As an on-the-fly-created archive files (just like HFS does using tar.gz)

I'm trying to download local files via File share, but instead of full-size MP3 I receive only 68 kb corrupted files.
Windows XP Pro SP3 x32.
No firewall installed.

Some folders just hangs this app.
If i chose my C:downloads folder it simply doesn't work,

My C:downloads folder has thousands files (24.695), its that the problem?
By AdilsonGuilhem, # Sep 22, 2009 6:18:27 PM
