Share files directly from your computer easily and safely.
The Opera Unite File Sharing service is simply the easiest way to share files from your computer. There is no need to worry about attaching loads of files to e-mails, or about single files being too large to send by e-mail. You don't have to sign up for third-party file sending applications, or set up an FTP service. All you need to do is send your friends the unique URL and they can instantly see your files. As we said. Simple.
Note: Please respect artists. Only share content if you have the right to do so.
Yeah, I also want to vote for a feature request which lets you download folders in a compressed format, probably the most prominent missing functionality. apart from this, the app rockz.
Add more server controls and this would be awesome!
I'm thinking about stuff such as: View connected clients View uploads in progress View total network usage graph View client network usage graph Set usage restrictions in Kb/s (that's kilo-BITS per second) Schedule server uptime restrictions Abort specific upload Redirect all upload requests of specific file to alternate source Generate torrent link to specific file and upload to tracker
I find file sharing very slow. The file sharing should download files using p2p (peer to peer like bittorrent or skype) technology, that would make opera unite truely awesome. Opera unite in general would gain a lot more popularity if it was developed into a p2p technology
Requires password to my folder. I can't find, where to set pass for downloading or to remove pass? My pass for login to opera doesn't suit. Which pass it requires, don't understand!!!!!
One major issue: file sharing should allow sharing of folders, not just individual files.
Perhaps it would be possible to create a checkbox system? Ie., for the invited user, he/she clicks on the link, enters the password, and then can check a whole folder for download, or can click on the folder and enter it to check files (or subfolders), before clicking on "download". "

It's essential to have something to download an entire directory at once instead of choosing one file after another.

The possibilities are endless!

would be nice if you can add and download folders
....and using torrent (not only p2p) would increase speed of downloading files present on more than one server (here in italy upload speed are vary low - burkinafaso style http://files.myopera.com/aid85/albums/1000531/banda%20slarga.png)

- seems activity feed appear only on one "file sharing" if there is more the one on server.
- seems it does not work sometimes (may be when there is too many files)

It works correctly on my Opera only with the one installed application (shared file). After installing the second it throws Error 404.
