There is no need to worry about attaching loads of files to e-mails, or about single files being too large to send by e-mail. File Share doen't work.
I'm trying to download local files via File share, but instead of full-size MP3 I receive only 68 kb corrupted files.

Windows XP Pro SP3 x32.
No firewall installed.

works well for me, but how about being able to save files back to the original host computer?

download links download an html file with the name of the actual file containing "404 Not found Resource not found" instead of the file itself!

I'm having what I suspect is the same problem as AdilsonGuilhem. I set File Sharing to share my My Documents folder, the idea being that I could access it away from my computer. It's 8.7 GB and 10,250 files. I tried it on a remote computer, and while the main My Documents folder appeared without problem, none of the subfolders would open. I tried opening them with both Opera 10 and Firefox 3.0, giving both several minutes, to no avail. IE8 seems to crash when connecting to Opera Unite, so I didn't try it.

I have Opera 10.10 alpha running the Unite service. According to a friend a thousand miles away, my Music Player service is working fine.

Version 3.1: No public access with the current OperaUnite! - I renamed the service for visitors and put a password in the title of the service. - Works with password!!

BUG:

Some folders just hangs this app.
If i chose my C:downloads folder it simply doesn't work,
but if i chose my D:downloads folder, it works.

My C:downloads folder has thousands files (24.695), its that the problem?

Feature request:

Download folder/selected files as zip or download whole folder.

sorry hat sich erübrigt. ich wusste nicht das es bei filesharing immer einzelne files und keine ganze partition sein darf (irgendwie schon klar : FILE sharing) wie auch immer: opera unite finden wir richtig prima !!

It seems to work fine with me. Even subfolders. Great idea. Let's improve it. Is it possible to give permission for guest (read only, modify...?). Thanks.

As a matter of fact, Opera 10 is bêta but Unite is alpha and it's very likely that Unite won't be in Opera 10 final. But me think Unite works pretty well for an alpha build. Anyway, you should ask questions in the forum you may have more answers than here.

this worked the first day. then nothing.

i can hardly reach my computer and when i do i might get to download one file. but the next one, say a movie file thats over 500mb it will only download 69kb. on every single file.

i have tried some of the things that has been posted. but seriously i just wanted to access my desktop with my macbook from far away. with upload and file sharing. but this is just useless crap right now.

seriously it doesn't even want to access some of my file sharing folder when logged inn and managing them. i have now tried this on XP (32bit) win7 (64bit) and macOSX leopard. and get the same stupid
thing on all.

this shouldn't even be beta as i see it. i love opera but this just pisses me off....

ich rede mal tacheless in deutsch, wie weltweit ca. 500 Mio. Menschen

WARUM wohl nur: die opera-programmurkser sollten bedenken,
dass in BRD nach 24 h alle DSL-provider eine Zwangstrennung
vornehmen und der Nutzer eine neue dynamische IP-addy bekömmt
8. es gibt noch viel zu tun, ...
deswegen ist opera unite ja noch im beta-stadium,
leider hält das Teil nicht ganz das Versprochene ...

1. der unite-Gedanke ist grundsätzlich super gut
2. leider ist die Umsetzung des Dienstes /Service ziemlich mager,
eigentlich sogar ziemlich unausgegoren
3. die Geschwindigkeit beim Datenverkehr ist mit ca. 5 KB/s genau
so schlecht, wie zu Analog-Modem-Zeiten:
so was grottenschlechtes hab ich selten erleben müssen,
für eine ca. 10 mb grosse Datei braucht man über 30 Minuten, lol
fast jeder file-hoster offeriert DL -speedmit mehr als 250 KB/s ...
4. WARUM kann man keine Unterverzeichnisse seperat freigeben?
5. WARUM kann man beim Download NUR 1 file auswählen?
wieso kann man zum DL nicht verschiedene files anwählen?
6. Mir war es unmöglich per EDIT das Passwort manuell zu wechseln,
trotz "Save as" wurde das manuelle PW als falsch erkannt:
DL war NUR mit dem von unite vorgeschlagenem PW möglich!!!

I use to get the 503 service error and thought the concept was good but the execution was needing some work...but then i was reading thru the post on what some guy said he did to get it to work.. I did what he did and it's been working for weeks non stop and never crashes now...here are my settings: I'm running 10.00 Beta 2 on windows 7... under the opera unite settings ( advanced ) use UPNP port forward is checked.. and what I thing was the biggest difference maker was the default port setting I use...since my modem/ router had a firewall...if you use a bittorrent client and had to use a certan port then just use that one..thats what i did..I read that the frig had to be open in order to get everthing to work....so always activated the frig first and then anything else I wanted to use...it's never crashed after all that...hope this helps somebody

IT's completely waste of time. just a Biggest disappointment with it,
it should make users happy and sharing easy, but it's not.
all I get or people I share files or media it just waste our time and caused us tenses of the errors and never get helpful support when we asked on forums
